The Indian Police Foundation (IPF) hosted an online workshop to deliberate on the practical implications of the newly introduced Criminal Law Bills, intended to repeal and replace the Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and the Indian Evidence Act. Speakers and participants included police officers, retired officers, as well as legal experts.

Understanding the practical implications of the proposed legislative changes was crucial for the police. Their goal was to obtain insights into how this new legislative framework would meet the evolving demands of law and order maintenance, crime prevention, and investigation. The IPF intended to seek an opportunity to make a presentation and submit a memorandum to the Parliamentary Committee to ensure that the concerns and suggestions of the police fraternity were adequately recognised.
